Sounds of the Hour

Swiping spills multiplies mess as sounds bellow. Babies squeal, big machines hum making mountainous vibrations in my head, achy neck screams, boy whines, phone beeps, voices alarm with checks in the mail and overpriced car parts. I pray and do and clarity replaces the noise in my head. I am thankful. Baby smiles and connects with her eyes, boy laughs, baby naps, boy helps with sheets and shares pretend stories as he plays. Nothing is lost. Life is good…and lived to the full.

I wrote this on June 28, 2004 at 11 am, when my children were closer to the ages of the children I saw at the Gentle Parenting Meetup group I attended in Raleigh this past Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11 am. This little piece is a bridge through time for me, connecting my experiences with theirs, and Reader, perhaps with yours. Let’s ask, seek, and knock, and believe we will receive what we need, and find an open door to what God has for us, trusting that it is better, even if different, than what we had in mind for ourselves.
